ONE IS, TO MANY (2019) discarded mattress, glass.
Twenty seven spring mattresses have been individually cut to index the human form. Once a place of comfort and rest, the mattresses are stripped back to reveal their jagged core. Painstakingly arranged to exploit vertical space, they use pulse to suggest the repetitive nature of trauma. Subtle variations in each human form create abstractions in the combined work. The ‘chaos’ created is further expanded by layered glass, reflection, light and shadow.
