HAPTIC KNOT (2024) Series photographic documentation of performance, inkjet print, 60cm X 90cm
The performance work uses an oversized figurative sculpture constructed from discarded bed sheets. It explores the physical nature of resistance and surrender and their relationship to the embodied self and other. Performed in private, the work involves a somewhat tense endurance exercise, whereby two bodies, conjointly real and manufactured, become “knotted” and entangled. Selected footage from these private actions alludes to the intimate and co‐dependent relationship that exist between resistance and surrender, self and other.
