ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM (2019) Discarded mattresses, wood
Sixty one discarded mattresses are attached and rolled into an abstract form. Loosely informed by various personal accounts regarding depression, addiction and anxiety, the work considers the notion of ‘holding it together.’ Strategic use of fabric covered wooden beams to hold the work in place, create a sense of impermanency while use of scale encourages a domineering affect designeed to dwarf the viewer.
