CRAVE (2023) sugar
Crave (2023) explores the connection between somatic memory and the physical body as an emotional centre. The full scale and life size work is constructed almost entirely out of sugar using an adapted method from the Victorian era. Sugar's addictive, toxic and yet comforting materiality invites the viewer to consider the residual nature of memory and emotion, across and between bodies and their possible intersection.
Created in residency at the Urban Art Museum of Contemporary Art in Berlin. Crave uses fragmented human forms to vacillate private moments with self and another, to grant access to the many subjective versions of self and the corporal relationship one has with one’s past.
Crave is on permanent display at the Teufelsberg Street Art Collection, Berlin.
