BIND AND ENTHRAL (2016) paper, wood, steel and glass.
The body absorbs the traumas of our lives. Our interpretation of past events can unwittingly influence our physiology, our thoughts and our behaviour. Bind and Enthrall uses paper, light and glass to deconstruct and compartmentalise the embodied self in real-time, projecting it into a sub-space that is detached, yet intrinsically connected.
When viewed through the panels, the figure is upturned, resulting in separate elements being 'the right way around.' They produce a space that resides between concrete and abstract entities, while ambiguously existing as both.
